HOUSTON, TEXAS (June 2007) - Quintana Capital Group, L.P. today announced that Quintana Energy Partners, L.P. and its affiliated partnerships (collectively, "Quintana"), alongside Keith Dyke, have completed the acquisition of Kopper-Glo Fuel, Inc. ("Kopper-Glo" or the "Company") from its prior owner for an undisclosed amount.
“Quintana is deeply entrenched in the coal industry and will make a fine partner in this first purchase of Central Appalachian coal mining operations”, stated Keith Dyke, President and CEO of Kopper-Glo (effective post-close). “Our coal is valuable in the steam market because it exceeds specifications and is attractively position geographically to serve utility customers in the Southeast.” With a history dating back to fifty years ago, Kopper-Glo is a relatively small Central Appalachian surface mining operation located near Knoxville, Tennessee that produces high quality steam coal.

Kopper-Glo has a demonstrated track record of safely and efficiently recovering product. Keith and we will add value through permitting and recovering additional reserves.”
