Corby is a Principal of the Fund and serves on the Investment Committee. Corby is also the Managing Partner of Quintana. He is the Chairman and CEO of the general partner of Natural Resource Partners L.P. (NYSE: NRP) and was the Chairman of Quintana Maritime Limited prior to its sale to Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd. on April 15, 2008. Corby has served as the CEO and Chairman of the general partner of Western Pocahontas Properties since 1986, of Great Northern Properties since 1992 and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Gauley Coal since 1986. He also serves or has served as Chairman of the Board of the All-American Wildcatters Association, the Baylor College of Medicine, the Cullen Trust for Higher Education and the World Health and Golf Association, and on the boards of the American Petroleum Institute, the National Petroleum Council and the Texas Medical Center. Corby was recently inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame. Corby attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.B.A. from the Business Honors Program.
Donald L. Evans
Secretary Evans is a Principal of the Fund and serves on the Investment
Committee. Secretary Evans is also a Senior Partner of Quintana.
Secretary Evans is the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Energy
Future Holdings Corp., an energy holding company, and is an advisor to
Energy Capital Partners I, L.P., a private investment fund. Secretary
Evans served as the CEO of the Financial Services Forum between 2005
and 2007. Secretary Evans served as the 34th Secretary of the U.S.
Department of Commerce. He was a core member of President George W.
Bush’s economic team, advising the President on issues including
pro-growth and job-creating economic policies, international trade,
business concerns and energy policy. In 1975, Secretary Evans moved to
Midland, Texas, and began his career as a roughneck working on oil rigs
for Tom Brown, Inc., an independent oil and gas company. In 1985, he
was appointed CEO of Tom Brown, continuing in that position until his
appointment as U.S. Secretary of Commerce in 2001. Tom Brown was
purchased by EnCana Corporation for $2.2 billion in 2004. Secretary
Evans was appointed to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas
System in 1995 and subsequently served two consecutive terms as
Chairman of the Board. Secretary Evans attended The University of Texas
at Austin, where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an
M.B.A.
Warren S. Hawkins
Warren is a Principal of the Fund. He joined
Quintana Petroleum Corporation in 1972 and presently serves as a Senior
Partner of Quintana. Warren has led numerous oil and gas investments
for Quintana Minerals Corporation, both in the United States and
internationally, during his 35 year career. Warren has served as a
director of American Petroleum Institute Upstream, LSU Petroleum
Industry Advisors, Houston InterAmerican Chamber of Commerce,
Greystone, Columbia Natural Resources, Pine Mountain, Caledonia, Deep
Gulf, Coldren Oil and Gas, Tenergy and numerous Quintana affiliates.
Warren is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the
American Petroleum Institute and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
Warren attended Louisiana State University, where he earned a B.S. in
Petroleum Engineering.
Brock E. Morris
Brock is a Principal of the Fund and Managing Director – Exploration
and Production of Quintana, where he is responsible for oil and natural
gas investments and operations, overseeing reservoir and operations
engineering and managing oil and gas investments. He is also head of
the Fund’s Upstream Oil and Gas Sector. Brock previously served as
Operations Manager of Quintana Minerals Corporation. Brock is a member
of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and has over 21 years of U.S. and
international exploration and production experience, including 20 years
with Quintana. Brock attended Texas A&M University, where he earned
a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering.
Corbin J. Robertson III
Corby is a Principal of the Fund and Managing Director – Coal and
Downstream of Quintana, where he is responsible for coal and downstream
investments. He is also head of the Fund’s Coal and Downstream Sector.
Previously, he served as an Associate for Sandefer Capital Partners, a
$500 million energy investment fund, and as an Associate for Reservoir
Capital Group, a $2 billion New York-based investment firm. He also has
served as a management consultant for Deloitte & Touche LLP, an
advisory director to Main Street Bank, and as Vice President –
Acquisitions for the general partner of Natural Resource Partners.
Corby attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a
B.A. in Plan II and a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance, and
Harvard Business School, where he earned an M.B.A.
William K. Robertson
Will is a Principal of the Fund and Managing Director – Midstream and Power of Quintana, where he is responsible for midstream and power investments. He is also head of the Fund’s Midstream and Power Sector. Previously, he served as an Associate with The CapStreet Group LLC, a private equity fund focused on middle-market companies in the Southwest region of the United States. Prior to CapStreet, Will was employed by the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch & Co., where he participated in numerous transactions involving public and private companies within the energy and power sectors. Will is a member of the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association and the IPAA. Will attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.A. in Plan II and a B.B.A. in Business Honors and Finance, and Rice University, where he earned an M.B.A.
